What I love about Harris
You may be surprised – from the e-book "Call Me Toxic – I get Trump" on Amazon
Yes, there are things I like about Harris.
1. She is young
It’s not about the years – she’s not a spring chicken either.
She’s not the Biden/Trump generation.
When she’s good in front of a camera, she comes off fresh and new. Even the fact that she has aligned herself with the extreme left, which I don’t like – still, it has a whiff of freshness about it.
And I am so tired of the Obama/Trump/Biden era – the polarization, the name-calling, the hatred-spewing.
I’m tired of the culture wars – the same old screaming and yelling about a handful of issues that could have been resolved years ago if anyone was really interested – abortion, gun control, immigration and more.
And yes, I know it’s an illusion.
I know she won’t stop any of that. On the contrary, she will probably make it worse.
She’s already begun: She has promised to put abortion back on the national stage, so Democrats and Republicans will have an issue to scream and yell about for the next hundred years.
But still, I’m tired of the era of old men pointing a finger at other old men and screaming, Get off my lawn!
This is a chapter out of “Call Me Toxic – I Get Trump,” in which I explain in detail what I think about the current situation – including Trump and Harris, election issues, January 6 and Hitler and all that, but also the Democrats and wokeness and the deterioration of American values – oh yes, and also how and why I voted. The book is available on Amazon. I wrote it because I knew the only way to explain myself was if I can talk for a while without anyone interrupting. If you want to yell at me, send me an e-mail, comment, whatever – you have to read the book first. (German: Beschimpt mich – ich verstehe Trump)
2. Es wird nicht so heiss gegessen wie gekocht
The Germans have a saying – “You cook hotter than you eat.”
Even with extreme populists, when the campaign is over and the smoke clears, most politicians become aware of the heavy responsibility on their shoulders and they do their job seriously and with responsibility.
Even Trump did it – in front of the cameras, he was screaming and yelling, but behind he was doing his job.
Harris, too, will drop “Medicare for all”, her huge tax gifts, and silly idea like no-taxes-for-tips and get down to dealing with Congress the best she can.
Also, America has a very effective system of checks and balances – the country was designed to withstand the worst a leader can do. It withstood Trump’s worse idiocies, and it can withstand Harris’s.
